Mr Afonso Pinto has always worked on farms close to where he lived in Nepomuceno. Over this time he learned all aspects of coffee farming and how to take care of crops throughout all stages of the annual harvest cycle.
With this knowledge and desire to run his own farm Alfonso bought his own small 11.5 ha farm named Olhos D'agua which translates as Eye of the Water. The farm is only planted with 2.5 ha of Red Catuai with the rest being open to the natural environment and water spring on the farm. With his wife and two children Alfonso and the family take care of the farm slowly looking to improve all aspects of what they do to continue producing small specialty lots. In the harvest they harvest the coffee by hand and then separate out the different qualities before drying the coffee on the patio for between 7 - 10 days.
